Rahe Roya – Iran National Orchestra Performance
Rahe Roya is a composition by Amir Hossein Taei performed by the Iran National Orchestra at Vahdat Hall on November 3, 2023. Homayoun Rahimian conducted the performance. Taei also participated in the concert as a violist.
This concert marked one of Taei’s latest collaborations with the Iran National Orchestra as both a composer and violist. At the same time, the performance presents a musical work inspired by the cultural character of northern Iran.
Rahe Roya and Gilaki Culture
Rahe Roya draws inspiration from a Gilaki musical theme and reflects elements of Gilaki culture. Taei composed the piece in the Dashti mood, an important modal area of Persian classical music.
In this way, the composition connects Iranian modal language with the musical character of Gilaki culture. The orchestra expands this idea through its ensemble sound and creates a broader setting for the melodic material.
Iran National Orchestra Performance
The Iran National Orchestra performed Rahe Roya under the direction of Homayoun Rahimian. As a result, the performance brings together Taei’s compositional ideas and the expressive possibilities of a large Iranian orchestra.

Amir Hossein Taei as Composer and Violist
