“Persian Violin 2” book has been released, 26 June 2025

The Persian Violin Method is a four-volume educational series originally compiled by Ruhollah Khaleqi and recognized as the only comprehensive method for Persian violin instruction.

When a Western instrument is adopted into a new cultural context and becomes widely embraced, the creation of a dedicated method marks its integration into that musical tradition. In this revised edition, changes have been kept minimal, focusing primarily on correcting notation and bowing inconsistencies.

This second volume builds upon the foundation laid in Book One, introducing more complex pieces and developing techniques essential for expressive Persian violin playing. In this book, students will also become familiar with Persian microtones such as the raised Fa (F Sori) and lowered Si (B Koron), as well as the concept of alternate tunings for the violin introduced toward the end of the volume.
