Sabokbal
Sabokbal by Hossein Dehlavi was performed and produced remotely by musicians of Iran’s National Orchestra during the COVID-19 quarantine period. Amir Hossein Taei mixed and mastered the audio and also produced the video, helping create an online musical experience for audiences during a time when live performances were restricted.
Sabokbal by Hossein Dehlavi
Hossein Dehlavi composed Sabokbal, a work that brings together the colors of Iranian music and an ensemble of classical and traditional instruments. For this project, musicians from different sections of the orchestra contributed their performances from the quarantine period.
The ensemble combines strings with Iranian instruments and woodwinds. Violin, viola, cello, and bass form the string section, while tar, tar bass, and santour add distinctive Iranian instrumental colors. Flute, oboe, bassoon, and clarinet further expand the ensemble’s timbral range.
Online Performance During Quarantine
This project emerged during the COVID-19 quarantine, when musicians and audiences faced significant restrictions on live musical activities. The performers collaborated remotely so that music lovers could continue to experience music despite the limitations of the period.
In addition to performing the music, Amir Hossein Taei handled the mixing, mastering, and video production. His work brought the individual recordings together into a finished audiovisual performance.

Production
Amir Hossein Taei was responsible for mixing and mastering the recording as well as producing the video. The final production combines the individual musicians’ contributions into a unified online performance.
